Schedule:
- 8:00 AM – Moshi Pickup: Meet at your hotel or our Moshi office to kick off the day.
- 8:30 AM – Moshi Town Exploration: Stroll through Moshi’s vibrant streets. Visit the bustling central market to see fresh produce, spices, and crafts. Stop by a local café for a taste of Kilimanjaro coffee, and admire colonial architecture like the old railway station. Learn about Moshi’s history as a trading hub beneath the mountain.
- 11:00 AM – Drive to Rau Forest: A 15-minute drive takes you to Rau Forest Reserve, a hidden gem just outside town.
- 11:30 AM – Rau Forest Walk: Wander shaded trails under a canopy of ancient trees. Spot monkeys, colorful birds like turacos, and butterflies. Visit the sacred fig tree, a Chagga cultural site, and enjoy the calm of this biodiverse oasis. A packed lunch is served by the riverbank.
- 2:30 PM – Return to Moshi: Relax on the drive back, with an optional stop for souvenirs or photos of Kilimanjaro (weather permitting).
- 3:00-3:30 PM – Drop-Off: Arrive back in Moshi, refreshed and inspired.
